Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam.
Exam types:
English
Maths
Online test in spatial, verbal, non-verbal, quantitative reasoning (similar to CAT4)
Exam length — 3x 1 hour exams.
Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the admissions test. On completion of the tests, all candidates receive an age-standardized score.
Other exam information:
The online reasoning test is similar to the CAT4.
The online test focuses on reasoning, especially numbers, shapes, words and designs.
The English exam assesses creative writing.
The maths exam assesses written numeracy and basic skills, especially shape, space and data handling.
Children will also have an interview with a senior staff member, which will focus on the student’s academic and co-curricular capabilities. An assessment of the student’s reading ability will also be done during the interview.
The assessments will take place in the January of year 6.
Students will also be given several group tasks to help assess their problem-solving, teamwork and leadership skills.
