Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam and GL Assessment.
Exam types:
English
Maths
Verbal Reasoning (GL Assessment)
Exam length — 3x 1 hour exams.
Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the admissions test. On completion of the tests, all candidates receive an age-standardized score.
Other exam information:
The entrance exams will take place in the October of year 6.
The English exam is made up of a 30-minute comprehension exercise (plus 10 minutes reading time) and 30 minutes of creative writing.
The maths exam is one hour long, as is the verbal reasoning exam, including 15 minutes of practice questions.
The online application form must be submitted before sitting the assessment, along with a £25 non-refundable application fee.
An updated school report from their current school’s headteacher will be required as part of the application process.
If the candidate is seeking an assisted place or scholarship, or they are on the borderline, they will be required to attend an interview in November.
