11 Plus Preparation Resources For Solihull School
Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam.
Exam types:
English
Maths
Exam length — 2x 90 minute exams.
Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the exams.
Other exam information —
The entrance exams will take place in the November of year 6.
The English exam consists of a comprehension exercise and a creative writing task, followed by the analysis of a text or poem.
The maths exam tests: basic arithmetic; arithmetic and thinking skills; and problem-solving in three separate sections.
An offer for year 7 is made based on a child’s assessment marks, current-school reports, and references.
The headteacher and other staff members will interview any borderline candidates.
Decision letters are sent out following the exam in December.
