Exam Information

Exam style — School’s own exam.

Exam types:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Verbal Reasoning

  • Non-Verbal Reasoning

Exam lengths — Unknown.

Pass mark —  There is no fixed pass mark for the exam.

Other exam information:

  • Registration must be filled out online along with a non-refundable registration fee of £50.

  • Following registration, parents and children will be invited to meet with the headteacher, online via Zoom or Skype.

  • Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests are not required for all applicants. You will be contacted by the admissions department as to whether your child must sit these tests.

  • Pupils are invited to spend an entire day at the school to experience life on campus.

Exam Information

Exam style — CAT4 & school’s own exam.

Exam types:

  • CAT4 (verbal, non-verbal, spatial and quantitative reasoning)

  • English

Exam length — 72 minutes (CAT4).

The CAT4 test is composed of 8 short tests assessing the following subsections of the four areas above:

    1. Figure Classification (10 mins)

    2. Figure Matrices (10 mins)

    3. Verbal Classification (8 mins)

    4. Verbal Analogies (8 mins)

    5. Number Analogies (10 mins)

    6. Number Series (8 mins)

    7. Figure Analysis (9 mins)

    8. Figure Recognition (9 mins)

Pass mark —  There is no fixed pass mark for the exam.

Other exam information:

  • Registration forms must be filled out online by the end of the December of year 6.

  • The entrance exams will take place in the January of Year 6.

  • Parents and pupils are invited to tour the school on open mornings/afternoons. This is an opportunity to meet the school staff and get an idea of what the school looks like.

  • As part of the admissions process, pupils will be invited to sit an age-appropriate interview and activity session with a senior staff member and will be required to provide a reference from their current school.

  • Registration forms must be filled out online before the end of November along with a non-refundable registration fee of £170.

  • Pupils will be required to sit an interview with a member of staff covering their interests, aptitude, personal qualities, contributions to the school community, and what support systems they have at home.

  • As part of the admissions process, pupils will be required to provide a reference from their current school along with a current report.

  • Successful pupils will be sent an offer, and parents are required to complete and return the acceptance letter by the due date specified on the letter.
