CEM Select (verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning)
Interviews — Around 100 students will be invited for an interview and the final offers are made soon after.
Other exam and entry information:
The 11+ tests take place in the January of year 6.
Candidates for year 7 entry can also apply for scholarships and bursaries.
CEM Select is taken on a computer and is a multiple choice test.

11 Plus Preparation Resources For Trent College
Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam and CAT4.
Exam types:
English
CAT4 (verbal, non-verbal, spatial and quantitative reasoning)
Exam length — 72 minutes.
The CAT4 test is composed of 8 short tests assessing the following subsections of the four areas above:
Figure Classification (10 mins)
Figure Matrices (10 mins)
Verbal Classification (8 mins)
Verbal Analogies (8 mins)
Number Analogies (10 mins)
Number Series (8 mins)
Figure Analysis (9 mins)
Figure Recognition (9 mins)
Pass mark — There is not a fixed pass mark for the admissions test. On completion of the test, all candidates receive an age-adjusted and standardised score. The average score is 100. Schools will also be able to see each child’s score and the time taken for each test section.
Interviews — Entrance exam and interviews will take place on the taster day.

The English exam consists of writing only.

11 Plus Preparation Resources For Nottingham Girls’ High School
Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam.
Exam types and lengths:
English (1 hour) – reading (with comprehension type questions) and writing.
Maths (1 hour) – approximately 25 questions.
Verbal reasoning (1 hour) – includes a 15-minute familiarisation test.
Exam length — 3 exams totalling 3 hours
Interviews — A group interview with the Deputy Head takes place as part of the admissions process.
Other exam and entry information:
The 11+ tests take place in January in the year of entry.
A non-refundable fee of £50 is charged to sit the 11+ entrance exam for Nottingham Girls’ High School.
Candidates for Year 7 entry can also apply for scholarships in performing arts and sports.
