Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exam and CEM Select.
Exam types:
English
Maths
CEM Select (verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning)
Exam length — 2x 1 hour exams (English and maths) + 1x 50 minute exam (CEM Select).
Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the admissions test. On completion of the tests, all candidates receive an age-standardized score.
Other exam information —
Entrance exams will take place in November of year 6.
The CEM Select is an online assessment that tests verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning.
The English exam includes a comprehension exercise and a piece of creative writing.
The maths exam is non-calculator. The school states that students must be familiar with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as:
Money calculations
Fractions and decimals
Directed numbers
Rounding and place value
Inequality signs
Time
Compass bearings
Reflection and translation
Averages
Simple graphs and statistical charts
Basic shapes (perimeter and area)
