School Summary

Queen Mary’s High School was founded in 1893 as an all girls’ grammar school. The school is twinned with Queen Mary's Grammar School which is its all-boys counterpart. The main school is girls only, but boys may join for Sixth Form.

Queen Mary’s has a specialism in languages, offering Mandarin, French, German, or Spanish from year 7-11. The school also sponsors exchanges with several schools in Germany and Japan. Pupils can choose to take Latin or Greek as an extra-curricular activity, resulting in an additional GCSE.
