11 Plus Preparation Resources For Stockport Grammar School
Exam Information
Exam style — School’s own exams.
Exam types:
English
Maths
Verbal Reasoning
Exam length — 2x 60 minute papers (English and maths) +1x 50 minute paper (verbal reasoning).
Pass mark — There is no fixed pass-mark for the admission test. On completion of the test, all candidates will receive an age adjusted and standardized score.
Other exam information:
A non-refundable registration fee of £40 is to be paid to the school.
The English paper assesses both comprehension and creative writing. All comprehension questions are multiple choice. 30 minutes is given for each section.
The maths paper tests maths skills in line with the national curriculum for key stage two.
The verbal reasoning paper tests general verbal reasoning questions, all of which are multiple choice.
An interview with the pupil will be required as part of the admissions process.
A progress report will also be required from the child’s previous school.
Entry to the school is dependent on the child’s performance on the entrance exam, interview and progress report.
