Children from Other Faiths who attend a Slough Catholic Primary School within St Peter’s Pastoral Area, (Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Primary School, St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School and St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary School) and live in Slough with a permanent home address. 

  7. Children from Other Faiths who attend a Slough Primary School within St Peter’s Pastoral Area Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Primary School, St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School and St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary School). 

  8. Children of other faiths with a religious leader’s reference. 

  9. Children of other faiths.

  10. Any other children.

School Summary

St. Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School is a co-educational, Catholic grammar school; it is the only one in the country. The school was founded in 1897 and promotes a Roman Catholic lifestyle. Four out of five students at the school are Roman Catholic.

The school specialises in English, history and religious studies. It received the Artsmark Silver in 2010 and a Fair Trade status in 2011. 

In 2020, 99% of GCSE students gained a grade 5 in English and Mathematics, with 66% gaining grade 7 in both subjects. It’s 2018 and 2019 GCSE results put the school academically in the top 1% of the country.

Exam Information

Exam style — GL Assessment for The Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools.

Exam types:

Pass mark —  A standardised score of 111 is the minimum score required to be eligible for consideration for admissions.

Other exam information — Both exams will cover a combination of all topics and consist of multiple choice style questions. Both papers include verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and maths.

Upton Court Grammar School uses the same 11+ Entrance Test as the other grammar schools in the Slough Consortium (Herschel Grammar School, Langley Grammar School, St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School). If you are applying to multiple schools in this category, your child only needs to take the tests once.
