Exam Information

Exam style — School’s own exam.

Exam types:

  • Mathematics

  • English

Exam length — 60 minute maths exam + 2x 45 minute English exams.

Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the admissions test.

Other exam and entry information: 

  • The English exam is split into two sections: reading and writing.

  • The online registration form must be filled out online before the end of December in Year 6. A non-refundable registration fee of £75 is required.

  • The assessment exam will be held in the January of Year 6.

  • Leeds Grammar School will request references and an updated report from the applicant's current school.

  • Applicants will be invited to sit an informal interview with a senior staff member.
