  • The English paper will test the child’s writing skills.

  • All entry exams are taken on the Year 6 Entrance Day in November.

  • A non-refundable fee is paid to the school for registration.

 Where qualifying applications for admission exceed the number of places available, places will be determined as follows:

  1. “Looked after Children/Previously Looked after Children” who have met the qualifying standard. 

  2. 30 places will be allocated to students who qualify for Pupil Premium who have met the qualifying standard. Place allocation for Pupil Premium students who live in Gloucester City (defined by electoral maps produced by LGBCE) will be prioritised over Pupil Premium students from other areas of the country.

  3. Students who are not eligible for pupil premium but ranked highest in the qualifying standard. If the student has achieved the qualifying standard then admission is simply by rank order of scores.

Ribston Hall High School was founded in 1921 and is an all-girls, selective grammar school in Gloucester. It became an academy in 2011.

The school specialises in humanities and sports with languages. In 2017, it was named the most ‘oversubscribed grammar school in Gloucestershire’. It has previously won the Governor Mark Award.
